Inca Trail 4 day Trek - Services & Prices

Price per person (2012): US$380.00

The above price is for a Group Service and includes all fees.
Typical group size 10-12 people, maximum group size, 16 people.

Includes:

1. Transportation: A bus from Cusco to the start of trek.
Train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (Backpacker Cerojo), and our private bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

2. Our staff includes two English speaking Guides, incredible Cooks, and Porters to carry the tents, food, and cooking equipment.

3. Group equipment includes: 4 Person dome tents - 2 persons per tent with plenty of space for your backpacks, and double thick foam sleeping mattress. You must provide your own sleeping bag, or you can rent one from us. All cooking equipment, dining tent, kitchen tent, and accommodation for the porters and cooks, as well as a first aid kit including emergency oxygen bottle.

4. Meals: 3 breakfasts, 3 hot lunches, 3 hot dinners. Examples of the food served includes pancakes, omelets, soups, fresh fruit, avocado, pasta, chicken, fish, meat, rice all rich in carbohydrates and suitable for trekking. You will also have your choice of hot drinks including coffee, teas, hot chocolate, and coca leaf tea which is excellent for the altitude. Vegetarian meals or special dietary needs are available at no extra cost but we need to know when you make your reservation.

5. Entrance Fees: Entrance ticket to the Inca Trail and the ticket to Machu Picchu

Excludes:

1.Breakfast on the first morning. We do stop in the town of Ollantaytambo on the way to the start of the trek, where you’ll have the opportunity to buy breakfast.
2. Lunch in Aguas Calientes on the final day.
3.Tips for the guides, cooks and porters

Discounts:

These are government-issued trek permits, and even though 200 permits are issued per day they sell out fast. If you cant get the Inca Trail for the day you want, you may want to consider an alternative trek such as the Lares to Machu Picchu 4-Day group trek
Since the government limits the number of people permitted on the Inca Trail we recommend that you make your as early as possible. It is best to make your reservation 4-6 months in advance

NOTE:

Please no not make a reservation and pay the deposit until you have all the group details (names, passport numbers, ages etc) and you are sure about your trek departure date since these details cannot be changed after we have bought your trek permit.
Important Note: We will buy your Inca Trail trek permit using the names & passport numbers that you send us with your reservation application. You must bring the same passports with you to Cusco, and with you on the Inca Trail. If the name or number on your passport is different from the name and number on the trek permit, the government authorities will not allow you to start the trek and you will not be entitled to a refund. If you plan to renew your passport between making the trek booking and actually starting the trek please bring your old passporvisit our web page Frequently Asked Questions relating to passport numbers. If you make a reservation at the student price you must send us a copy of your ISIC card at the time you pay the deposit. You must also bring this card with you on the trek. If you fail to bring your ISIC card on the trek the government authorities will not allow you to start the trek.

Trek Options:

1. Personal porters can be hired to help carry up to 6kg or 13 lbs of your personal items such as clothes, sleeping bag etc. The cost to hire a porter is $40.00 USD. If you hire the services of a porter we will provide you with a medium size duffel bag to safeguard your equipment. You will still need to take a daypack to carry your essential items such as rain poncho, warm fleece, camera and water bottle.

2. Single accommodation in Aguas Calientes. If you would like a single room to yourself there will be an extra $20 USD surcharge. Please let us know if you prefer a single room at the time you make your reservation.3. If you would like to spend an extra night in Aguas Calientes you must arrange this on your own. This can easily be done once you are in Aguas Calientes. Please note that if you spend an extra night in Aguas Calientes we will purchase your train tickets from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, for the following day. You will also have to arrange your own transportation so you can catch one of the many buses waiting for the train to take you back to Cusco (approx extra cost US$5).

3. Sleeping Bag rental. You can rent a sleeping bag in our office US$15 per person for the 4 day/3 night trek. All bags are washed after each use, are rated at -15* C and weight 2.5 kg.

Discounts:

A $20 USD discount is available on the above prices to students and children under 16 years of age with a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC) or passport showing proff of age. Proff of age must be provided at the time of paying the trek deposit in order to qualify for the discount.
A $10 USD per person discount can be given to groups of 4 persons or more, when the group reservations and deposit are made by one person.

IMPORTANT: Thrid party costs:

The above trek prices are based on the following third party costs which are outside of our control:
1: Machu Picchu entrance fee is about $40.00 USD (There is a 50% discount for students with ISIC cards and children <16yrs). The government reserves the right to increase the entrance fee at any time.

2: Included in the price of the trek is the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo on the Backpacker Economy service which currently is priced at $31.00 USD per person each way. The Peru Rail website states that they reserve the right to change the price at anytime.

3: Bus tickets from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes, $7.00 each way.

If any of the third party costs listed above increase, clients will be liable for paying any increased cost of the trek upon arrival in Cusco.
