Planning your visit to Peru.

The best time to travel to Peru is between June and September. This is the dry season in the mountain and jungle regions. These months are our winter, so even though it may be sunny and warm in the day  the nights in Cusco can be cold, often falling to freezing especially in  July and August.

June, July & August

This is the dry season with little chance of rain. Warm in the day with blue skies but it can still get cold at night. Being  close to the equator and at high elevation, the sun can be very intense so sun protection is a must. September & October

September, October

The rains can start as early as September. However usually we just get a couple of heavy showers each week and the rest of the time it is sunny or overcast. The rain just lasts for a couple of hours and dries up pretty quick. A plastic rain poncho, which can be bought in Cusco, is recommended.

November to March

The rainy season is from November thru March. Expect and be prepared for rain everyday.
